Among them, the hamburger at Louis’ Lunch in New Haven, Connecticut; the Cobb salad, at the Brown Derby in Los Angeles; the root beer float, in Cripple Creek, Colorado; the corn dog, in Springfield, Illinois; and the pizzeria, at Lombardi’s in New York City.

I have always heard the Hamburger was created in Seymour, Wisconsin. Granted, I'm from Wisconsin, but still.
