The Birthplaces of Iconic American Foods

20081021AmericanFlag.jpgMental Floss compiles a list of the birthplaces of ten iconic American foods. Among them, the hamburger at Louis’ Lunch in New Haven, Connecticut; the Cobb salad, at the Brown Derby in Los Angeles; the root beer float, in Cripple Creek, Colorado; the corn dog, in Springfield, Illinois; and the pizzeria, at Lombardi’s in New York City.
