Taste We Can Believe In, Donuts and Bacon '08

20081008-donuts-bacon.jpg If you watched last night's town hall debate and thought, both campaigns could use a morale-booster, might I suggest newcomer Donuts Bacon '08? While they may be polarizing factors (vegetarians ain't behind this one), for many Americans, it's a Taste We Can Believe In (starting at $23.80). If you eat a piece of bacon and think, yes, this is who I can trust for four more years. Or get frosting all over yourself and think, my investments will be safe with this—then, this is the ticket for you, my friends.

Donuts is a lightweight. Bacon should be at the top of this ticket.

I've never seen such a beautiful donut horizon. You've got my vote.

But bacon is so versatile that it's the ideal running mate.

@Adam, that depends on the donut.

Donut and Bacon are a such a perfect team, they can come together and be as one.

"When the glaze was down, I have always supported our troops."

"I'm Donut, and I approve this message."

I hate to go all crankypants here, but it seems like Serious Eats is becoming all bacon, all the time. Yeah, we get it, everything is funny if it's made of bacon. I can't say I hate bacon, but I don't eat it, and it's getting a little old. Could we at least relegate any more than, say, a couple posts a week to a separate bacon sub-blog?

@emilydev, sorry, it's a pork fat thing. ;-)

The thing is, there are lots of foods covered here a lot of readers don't eat. For example, burgers are on here constantly from AHT, and pizza-only is posted via Slice ... but I know for a fact some of the regulars here are vegetarians or vegans. I'm sure when they see a burger or meat pizza post they just keep going to the next post.

I need one of those shirts.

I do eat bacon, and I like it, and I still don't get the "everything is better with bacon" meme that just won't die.

Bacon with no term limits.

i just want to say that there are donuts with bacons on them.

it's like if they got together and had a child.
