James Beard Awards Add Blog Category

bug-qb-beard.jpgThe so-called Oscars of the Food World will now accept nominations for blogs: "The Journalism Awards program has established a new James Beard Foundation Award for Blogs focusing on Food, Restaurants, Beverage, or Nutrition." It's not like web entities had been barred from entering, but its nice to see the foundation tip its hat explicitly to the impact blogs have had on the food world. Enter here, bloggers! [via Eater]

$100 to enter!

I want to start a contest with an exorbitant entry fee too! Woo Hoo, I finally found a way to earn a living!

@Raphael ~ will SE pay to enter?

I'd vote for SE as #1, hands down.

foodnetworkaddict.com and epicurious would come in second :)

@hungrychristel: Are you a Beard Awards judge? If so, maybe we will pay the $100 to enter ;)

Oh no I wish! I think you should enter the community anyway Adam.
I'm sure there are enough SE-ers for it to be worth it--even the exposure would be ! :)

@hungrychristel: I think, yes, we will be entering! Thanks for your support.

S.E. is the best all-around food site/community on the web, period. :-)
