In Videos: Martha Stewart With Babies In Food-Inspired Halloween Costumes

20081007-in-videos-martha-babies.jpg

"Sonya is having a little bit of a hard time being a Caesar salad. She really wanted to be a pie." As if little babies couldn't get any cuter and pudgier, that factor gets multiplied by infinity when they wiggle in lobster, lemon meringue pie, and roast turkey costumes.

Isabele Ortley is responsible for the crafty Halloween costumes, and showed them off on an episode of the Martha Stewart Show in 2006. At the end, Ortley demonstrates step-by-step how to turn your munchkin into a succulent roast turkey, complete with drumsticks! The best is the little one passed out in the apple pie costume. She seems pretty over her lattice-topped belly. Video, after the jump.

Martha With Babies In Food Costumes

"I thought I already put the turkey into the oven."
"OH GOD! I baked the baby!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

That is hilarious, cute, and disturbing all at the same time!

even anne geddes would have nightmares about this. disgusting (silvio voice)

A table full of babies is more than a little strange...

It makes me think about that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer gets a dark tan from sunbathing with butter, and a very hungry Newman has hallucinations of Kramer as a roasted turkey.

It gives new meaning to A Modest Proposal.

now i'm all hungry for tasty babies...

At first I was worried these were cakes of babies in food costumes...too much Cake Wrecks lately?

ditto mschlock...

shouldn't these be made out of things that aren't dangerous if babies rip them apart and then EAT? construction foam doesn't seem like it'd be baby-safe, haha.

i'm so hungry, too! and man, that is quite a spread of... babies.

disappointment.

It looks like the turkey ate the baby. The look on the baby's face is priceless.

Disturbing, yes. I can't help but wonder about the psyche of the person who crafted these.

Ok, seriously... that's just wrong.

And this is definitely going to cause me to have nightmares.

Thanks a lot Erin.

the food part wasn't as weird, it's the fact that they all include platters and have garnish around them!! very creepy.

It's not quite as disturbing as baby shower cakes that are designed to look like babies.

Who wants a piece?

brrr *shudder*

Baby! The other other white meat!

"Baby! The other other white meat!"

Hahaha... that's sick and disgusting, Buffy.

I like you. :)

Lol, although the position of the baby and the turkey costume looks like they're in a compromising position. ugh.

pure brilliance -- the baby is trying to escape from the turkey costume about 8:24 into the clip.

There is something seriously disturbing about seeing a baby inside a turkey. Turducken is one thing. What is that? Turbaby? Makes me wish she'd start telling me how to organize my office--again.

OMIGOD! Only in America! I love the way Martha takes the poor baby off the table with the "safe" sides and dumps it on the table WITHOUT safe sides!!

That woman was a nanny for 7 years, how disturbed must THOSE kids be???

@Deb Harkness: LOL "Turbaby"...I was thinking of trying a Turducken, not now tho..>shuddering

seriously, IMHO, somebody keep her away from the fava beans and chianti!!! (she definitely watched Hannibal too many times).

Seriously...this creeps me out too much. The babies can't even sit up! I mean, I know they aren't at that age yet but still...it just seems extremely weird to me. I'm with CSBROWN on this one..it's not they they are dressed as food it's the fact they are laying on platters with garnishes!

weird...
