Electronics (and More) Made of Meat

20081006-meatelectronics.jpg

Looks like someone had too much extra ham lying around. Trendhunter has a gallery of gadgets made out of meat. Artist is unknown, but he/she probably isn't a vegetarian. [via Engadget]

When I attended school at the University of Washington, there were often "art installments" around campus, by our art majors. In particular, there were a few glass cases on the outside of the art building, and at the nearby bus stop, where art students displayed their workes.

One day I noticed a rather pretty mosaic, all pink and brown. A week later, it had started changing colours...the mosaic was MADE OF MEAT. I have never been so grossed out. They left it there until it rotted, steaked and spotted with black, green, blue and orange. I could hardly walk by it - I was afraid I'd get food poisoning just by breathing in the nearby air! Don't get me wrong - I love me some meat. HOWEVER...it's not a medium that I would choose to put on public display for EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME!

Whenever I need to store some particularly juicy files, I always rely on my trusty USDA drive....

Good lord, don't people have anything better to do with their time than sculpt/create things with meat?

How about you make me a frickin sandwich?

:P

When works gets a bit slow I email one of these pictures under a faux important subject to my vegetarian sister at work...i.e. "important question" and then I insert a USB drive made of ham. Needless to say, she doesn't like it.

My stomach doesn't feel very good looking at this "meat" (art ?).

Ick... hold the Jeffrey Dahmer, please.

Stuff like this brings out the angry vegetarian in me (who is usually dormant).

Arg. Do it with people flesh. Or kitty flesh. Not so cute anymore aye?
