Ultimate Celebrity Recipes

20080922-celebrity-recipes.jpg

Once I heard Paris Hilton boast on a radio show that she was making pancakes in her pajamas. A date with the Bisquick box—that's probably all the cooking celebs can squeeze into their busy schedules. But beyond the instant batter, Amy Sedaris likes whipping up cupcakes and Elton John craves shrimp curry.

We dug up recipes from celebs, both past and present. Some look downright nasty, and most remind me of those old church cookbooks featuring weird combinations of mayo, fried onions, Jell-O, and canned cranberry sauce. Take Britney Spears and her Cheetos chicken casserole: the name alone gives me goosebumps. Celebrity recipes you might actually want to try, after the jump.

Courtney Cox:Currant Scones

Michelle Obama: Apple Cobbler
Elvis Presley: Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
Dolly Parton: Parton Family Black Raspberry Pie

I've made Hepburn's brownies before, and they're wonderful. She doesn't use a lot of flour, making them fudgy as all get out. Three cheers for Kate, man.

My roommate and I made TC's carbonara tonight! It was pretty tasty.

Katie has 3 cheers from me always, i'll have to try her brownies as they are a major weakness of mine. just made some with ceyenne pepper and cinnamon, katies are next!

@huneybumper -- brownies with cayenne pepper? That sounds pretty freaky!

What about Audrey Hepburn's pasta recipe in her son's memoir?

chocolate with ceyenne and cinnamon sounds freaky?

I made Hepburn's brownies a while back: they were dry and bitter, just like her.

Reese makes the same spice tea my family made growing up! Maybe it's a Tennessee thing.

So weird-I literally ate one of the Katherine Hepburn's brownies the other day! It has a very distinct aftertaste of honey with each bite. Anyone else agree with me or am I nuts?

Shanter's muffins sound good...

@gastromeg -- I've made Hepburn's brownies for years and don't recall ever tasting honey. They are the greatest brownies, though. Love 'em.

Not to start a big thing, but Obama's Chili recipe has BEANS and BELL peppers in it!!! No wonder he lost the vote in Texas. That kinda thing may fly in Wisconsin, but not down here.

Note: I said vote not Caucus
