Before food bloggers get all excited, they should read the Telegraph's story. Somehow I don’t think this works for people who are already predisposed to taking photos of their food (i.e., us weirdos).

hasn't worked for me;

just the opposite it seems

@passion4eating: Amen!

HA! I take photos of my food all of the time. I do get weird looks, but whatever.

OMG ZACH, YOU HAD TO CHOOSE THAT PHOTO.

Taking photos of my food tends to slow me down a bit, but I still eat too much. WOO.

@roboppy: no SLR?

I don't take pics of food when I go out to eat. But I take pics of my food. When I work hard on a meal, or my baking I cannot just sit and eat it. I often find myself sitting off to the side sipping wine while people eat.
I think its a sensory overload thing. My mother and grandmother were the same. After all that work we just want a glass of wine and happy faces.
I didn't need a camera to slow down my eating, my marathon cooking did it.

I think this was 'Boppy pre-SLR.

@adam: I can't believe there was ever such an era.

But what happens when you eat the photos?

@JigsawJones: LOL ME TOO!

It works for me. If I have a craving for sweets, just looking at pictures in a magazine or cookbook and imagining eating it is enough to satisfy me. Savory foods make me want to cook them, but like Jerzee, once I am done cooking, I am nearly satisfied before eating.
