Kenny Shopsin's Memoir-Cookbook Out Today

Whether you love or can't stand Kenny Shopsin, his book comes out today, and it's a lot like him. "Profane, unreasonable, more than occasionally rude, charming, funny, and totally ridiculous," as Ed describes him. But always memorable.
Read Ed's full take on Eat Me: The Food and Philosophy of Kenny Shopsin, and don't forget to watch Kenny on Conan tonight. If you're in New York, hit up the Strand bookstore tomorrow at 7 PM for a discussion.
We'll be watching and counting how many times he gets bleeped out. Feel free to throw out guesses.

Damn, the segment was too short. We need more Kenny!
Anyway, it was fun to watch, especially when Conan leaned in and rested his head against Kenny's, like two lovers reunited after years apart. lol ;)
Kenny didn't get bleeped a single time. He was friendly, polite... even lovable.

I'm 6th on the reserve list at my library.
I fell asleep on my couch last night trying to stay up for Conan, but you can watch the full episode online now at nbc.com.

I'm half-way through this book and it really takes the time to explain his philosophy of food and the treatment (good or bad) of his customers. Can't wait to try some of the recipes.
Having been in the retail business for years I can understand many of his attitudes.

I've been a Kenny & family fan since I saw "I Like Killing Flies" several months ago. I ordered advance copy of Eat Me at that time. I've watched the dvd several times. It stirs my fond memories of the 60's and working alongside my mom in our family diner. She dished out wit, wisdom, & sarcasm with her daily specials. I thought Kenny may have been a long lost brother that mom never told us about. I received my book Tue.. I love it..beautifully done. I will be ordering more copies to give as gifts .
