Amazing Charcuterie Floor

20080916-salamifloor.jpg

Belgian artist Wim Delvoye has created a tile floor made from cold cuts—sort of. I'm going to let you soak in the sight above for a bit ...

And then tell you that it's a trompe l'oeil salami floor. The mosaic is made up of C prints. Still pretty arresting, no? [via Yumsugars]

I'm kind of glad it's C prints. My first reaction was that it was a waste of perfectly good pork products!

Maybe next time he should use "Sea prints", and make the tiles from steamed chunks of salmon, shrimp & lobster.

I know, I know, I'm full of bologna ...

That floor looks great, although I think a little provolone would really tie the room together.

What? No olive loaf??? Hehe

I find this to be a bit gruesome...

I hope this was at least the kitchen floor...
