We have only 1 starbucks within about 40 miles from my house and it is closing. I think I am the only town with 1 starbucks. When i lived in Delaware and maryland they were every 10 feet. I am sad :(

@love2cook:

I recommend the Aeropress coffee maker (available through Amazon).
If you buy whole-bean coffee from a reliable purveyor, grind it yourself, and use the Aeropress, the result will be much better than anything Starbucks sells, I assure you.

oh how i wish they would close all 5 of ours! Sorry but i loathe star*ucks!

Their used coffee grounds make good compost (but no better I suspect than any other brand):

I wish they'd close all three within one block of my office.

Starbucks has no one but its greedy, global dominating self to blame.

The "product" has become so mediocre, that the chain's failure seems natural. Ever tried one of their frozen thingies whatever they're called? Horrible! It could appeal only to the most desperate and taste challenged (maybe those who were not breast-fed).

Smarten up, the days of the brainwashed consumer might be over.... well, maybe....

That's a little hyperbolic don't you think pointy? I guess you could describe their millions of daily customers as desperate and taste challenged but...and as for the greed part how many other coffee shops can you work in and get health benefits? I could take them or leave them but lets be a little more grounded in reality.
