In Videos: Fat Guy Nation's 12,000 Calorie Michael Phelps Challenge

20080825-video-fatguynation.jpg

As a testament to the great power of man's curiosity and stupidity, people keep trying to match Michael Phelps' nauseatingly high calorie intake despite that such a diet is unfit for average human beings.

But what if they're not average? What if they're a bunch of really fat guys? A bunch of really fat guys who don't just eat the Olympian-sized meal, but follow up the gorging with a race against a collegiate swim team member? You don't really have to watch the video to know who wins, but thanks to Fat Guy Nation, you can watch the horror unfold. From the first bite of chocolate sauce-drowned waffles to the final labored pushed to the edge of the swimming pool, you'll be thinking, "Why the hell am I watching this?"

On that note, watch the video after the jump.

Yikes. You had to post this at lunch time, huh? It needs to come with a warning!

Yuk.... (I'm a fat guy and I approved this comment)

Oh yeah that is really hilarious. Obesity kills. For this and millions of other jackasses like him in this country we need a national health care plan?

Michael Phelps can afford to eat 12K calories, not like this tub of lard who is eating himself to death... but I'm sure not before putting an undue strain on our hospital resources and other costs from his fatness.

It's this kind of cavalier attitude towards food that make people judge fatties. No, it's not genes. It's you stuffing your face for stupid stunts.

I think the thing to remember is that Phelps eats 12,000 calories AND swims 5 hours a day.

Have those competitors do the same for three months, film THAT and then I think we'll have something interesting to look at.

Oh come on, they were doing it for fun. Let's not critique everything people do. But that was A LOT of food.. ughh that bologna concoction was brutal to watch!

I'm with Jacqueline...you guys are taking it a little too seriously. They aren't actually advocating the eating of 12000 calories a day for everyone/fat guys. Clearly it was done "satirically" even if it didn't end up being that funny.

National Lampoon movies usually end up having some kind of "moral lesson" to them. So, it'll probably have some kind of "we shouldn't be a fat guy nation" tone near the end. Plus, it looks like they didn't actually eat all of what they tried to show being eaten.

Oh, so are you saying its OK to be obese and wasteful???

It's this kind of self-satisfied greed fueled ignorance that makes this country suck!

For fun? If this country were full of skinny people, maybe it wouldn't be so disgusting. Unfortunately, the number of obese people goes up every year. They are now the majority. (I'm talking obese, not just overweight.) The country is literally eating itself to death, and straining our resources in the process. Why do I have to subsidize the health care costs of these pigs? Why do I have to pay the same airfare as the obese jerk 3 times my size who is literally spilling over the armrest?

Then for these fat farts to pull a stunt like this. Disgusting. There was nothing funny about it. Their energy is better spent walking around the block a few times a week. And they should have a better respect for food then as a prop to stuff into their gross gullets.
