Free '90210' Ice Cream

20080826-90210.jpg

"Free ice cream. Cool ZIP code."

I have no idea what ice cream has to do with 90210, but the CW network has come up with a stunt to promote the revival of that icon of '90s teen dramas:

To promote its already much-hyped ZIP Code revival, The CW will give away 100,000 ice cream novelties over the Labor Day weekend. The network has hired ice cream trucks to drive around waterfront locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago to distribute the tasty treats.

The story at TV Week says there will likely be ice pops and "something from the chocolate family."

We'll be fine as long as there are no sideburn-shaped creamsicles.

My personal fav 90210 ice cream flavors are "Luke Berry", "Cherry Garr" and "Brian Austin Cream". "Shanon Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-Doherty" is okay too...

@JudgeFudge: LOL. I don't know if today's early-20-somethings would even get those references. Kelly Taylor as guidance counselor? I feel OLD.

waterfront locations 'eh? hmmm...

@adam kuban: haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I felt the same way watching Gossip Girl when the musician-Dad opened for Lisa Loeb, then get a slot on the Breeders Reunion tour.... Apparently the new 90210 is a real stinker, anyway. They're not even letting critics screen it before it hits the air!

Oooh, I guess I'm going to be hanging out by the waterfront of Chicago. And yea, what DOES ice cream have to do with anything? Oh well, I guess it works.

This is such crap. The Ice Cream Man has been doing this for 4 years. Free Ice Cream just because. www.icecreamman.com

This is a corporate rip off of something genuine and beautiful.

What a sham! Ice Cream Man Forever!!!
