Robert Irvine Has Started a 'Blog Site'

robertirvinepepper.jpg

Robert Irvine, the fired Food Network chef who has himself admitted he "was wrong to exaggerate," has started what he calls a "blog site." Irvine comes out punching, setting the record straight for all you haters with a 1,000-plus word blog post.

There are some rumors and stories that have spread over the internet and in the papers, some containing only a grain of truth, most untrue, some wildly inaccurate. I’m not going to bore anyone by rehashing old tales or defending against every misinformed accusation...

I'm really glad he's setting the record straight.

I'll be quick to judge and say he is a talented well-accomplished chef, and he should be proud based on his show and his history

Blog, schmog....all I can look at are his BICEPS!

I never watched his show. I only saw him on TV when he was on Iron Chef America. I had and continue to have no opinion about his firing. I do have an opinion about his blog entry.

“get over yourself and get on with it."

And then he spends the next 11 paragraphs not getting over himself or getting on with anything, including this:

"on skills that I had developed over the course of my career that were unique to me: cooking at a high culinary level under pressure, often for large numbers of people, sometimes with limited resources and an ability to improvise with whatever I had on hand to get the job done."

That's unique? Really? As in he's the only one in the world with these skills? Or even unique in the sense of unusual (even though he says, "unique to me")? I'm sure there are scores if not hundreds of chefs across the country that have the skills to do what he's talking about. Seems as if he needs to follow his advice from his opening sentence and "get over [him]self."

"I’m not going to bore anyone by rehashing old tales or defending against every misinformed accusation..."

Translation: Most of what they're saying is true and I don't really have a defense.

YA HOO CARES?

I wish him the best of luck trying to resurrect his "damaged" career. He is a talented chef with an ego as large as his stature. His shows did highlight his abilities to function under the gun and were at times amusing. However, he did embellish, lie and grossly exaggerate his credentials, so rather than publish a never ending rant about moving on and ignoring the "unjust" criticism he's been subjected to, he should learn to fly low and rebuild his career quietly, honestly and out of the spotlight. If he reemerges a super star again, then the kudos will be well earned.

Sounds like he's afraid of what people are going to say about him!

Anyone want him and McCain to watch the "internets" together? Perhaps they will catch an episode of daughter-McCain's "blog site."

Like all pompous windbag LIARS, he can't believe he's been found out!

Only hit dogs howl!

I don't understand why people seem to get such pleasure by bashing someone they've never even met. I think Irvine did a great job on Dinner:Impossible. His resume issues aside, he is entertaining and knows a lot about cooking, and I will miss watching him on Dinner:Impossible.

WE LOVE ROBERT!! We watched the show with that Dinner: IMPOSTER!! Michael Symon was terrible and those guys with him were GROSS! The whole family wants Robert back!! Who cares about the resume issues--have seen other people in "positions of power" do a lot worse things. Haven't the rest of you? Robert, come back!!! Will never watch Dinner: Imposter--at least not without you!!!
