When Did the Next Food Network Star Know He Was a Serious Eater?
Last night's winner Aaron McCargo, Jr., who will premiere his new show "Big Daddy's House" this Sunday on the Food Network, pinpointed his I-Knew-I-Was-a-Serious-Eater-When moment this afternoon on the phone: "I was four, and my family started passing out rice, peas, and pearl onions... they give me one chicken leg, and I said to myself, they got to be joking. When I get older, I'm going to cook a whole chicken and eat it myself."

I'd have been furious if they didn't give me the peas and pearl onions. They could, however, keep the chicken.

SCREW YOU FOR SPOILING LAST NIGHTS SHOW!
Did you HAVE to put a photo of the winner next to the headline on the front page?!
Those of us with TiVos find it harder and harder to visit Serious Eats with your spoiling of EVERY Food related contest show.

HE SOUNDS LIKE MEEEE.
I completely understand. I have eaten almost all of a whole chicken myself, but I have an indulgent divorced parent ;) Once I had allowance and more free reign to buy whatever junk food I wanted, my first purchases were massive quantities of food I'd been allowed only in painfully small portions...haha
