No Peking Duck for Brits
Bad news for Peking Duck lovers and Chinese restaurants in Britain: the EU has banned ovens used to prepare Peking Duck that don't carry a CE mark, despite that no health problems have been associated with the ovens. [via pabo76]

'We are absolutely not picking on the Chinese community. This is an issue with any kind of ethnic type of food where they may well be using catering equipment imported from outside the EU. made me chuckle. *roll eyes*
Rules are rules though, as silly as they may sound. If they have a law in place and people don't comply, it has to be upheld until legally overturned. Otherwise, why have any law? Some goober some time in history must have burnt a place down or killed someone with unsafe/unmaintained equipment to have implemented certifications on equipment.
