Alton Brown Is Not Technically a Scientist, But He Scuba Dives

20080730-alton-brown.jpgStill, that doesn't mean you won't find a nice profile of the Food Network presenter in Chemical & Engineering News. The article is an in-depth look at Brown's influences, plus the back story on his show, Good Eats. Fun facts: He is an avid scuba diving and working on a documentary about "people's relationship with the ocean."

Finally, an article in my c & e news that means it doesnt go straight in the recycling! They did a good one on molecular gastronomy a few weeks back too!

I saw a preview for the new "Feasting on Waves" 4 part mini-series. I'm pysched...

@jennywenny: When I saw this post, I immediately ran to my newest issue of C&EN but lo and behold, it's only available on the online edition. Oh well, at least it's still neat to see that other chemists are fans of AB also.

They've got another one from the same issue with him too: http://pubs.acs.org/cen/science/86/8630sci9.html

GREAT article.

This is why Alton Brown is my go-to for my "experimenting". I used to skip over Good Eats, because I found it kind of corny. But, one night, the show was about baking and I was hooked!

I do still have problems just "walking away" from my quick breads, though...

Fantastic article. I just love him.
