Wine is never appealing when it is expensive. How many times do reputable wine columnists such as Dorothy Gaiter and John Brechr of the Wall Street Journal have to debunk this ridiculous notion that wine needs to be expensive to be enjoyable?
I always want to pay more for food than I do for wine. Wine, to me, is enjoyable, mainly because it lubricates conversation and adds to the enjoyment of food. Amongst friends, after the first bottle, who cares how much the second one costs? Ludicrous.
