I want this breakfast! Found it this morning while scooting around in the Serious Eats Flickr group, where it was uploaded by Frontlineblogger. So hungry.

My inlaws eat this kind of breakfast every day. Except greasier. It's soooo good, but not every day. Grease would be oozing out of my pores.

Everything looks great except for that warm tomato chunk and the cold toast. (Been to Britain and have never understood cold toast and warm tomatoes at b'fast.) ((shudder))

That looks like a lot of cholesterol. I also don't understand the tomato chunk...it's so strange.

Skip the breakfast and just inject lard into your arteries with a hypodermic. The effect will be the same. But DAMN that looks good!!

This looks awesome. Does anyone know a place that might make something like this happen in New York?
JudgeFudge at 9:52AM on 06/26/08
Yes, the beans are missing, and so is the grease.
Personally, i hate the stuff, but, if you insist, it certainly is a great excuse for a London trip.
billg at 10:28AM on 06/26/08
Yeah, the beans would make it. Plus, the egg should be fried. Fried bread is rather nice in this context as well.
caley at 10:32AM on 06/26/08
I've never understood the tomato either. And yes it needs beans.
bobbob at 10:38AM on 06/26/08
It's missing mushrooms, too. And of course, as mentioned above, the beans. I also sometimes like mine with white pudding either in addition to, or in place of, the black pudding.
rheogs at 10:47AM on 06/26/08
I may be way off but isn't that roundish blackish-purple object a mushroom, of sorts?
moibec at 10:58AM on 06/26/08
The best place to get the "full English" here in NYC is at Tea and Sympathy on the weekends. It really is a perfect version of the classic, and is probably a little better than the version in the picture. Plus, you can get it with the baked beans and/or mushrooms that are necessary for some people.

All it needs is HP sauce. Every time I go to London I insist on eating this at least twice. But with fried eggs.

I looove English Breakfasts, but this one looks dry.
Scrambled eggs look weird. Fried eff is the way to go.

cybercita at 10:35AM on 06/27/08
I'm almost afraid to hear the answer, but what's that black stuff on the plate?
Southern_bella at 8:40PM on 06/27/08
Be scared Southern_bella .... It's a mushroom
Graham Holliday at 3:28AM on 06/30/08
The tomato should be grilled, the eggs fried, and where's the jam for the toast. And a nice cuupa!
