John McCain Is Older Than Chocolate-Chip Cookies

Would you vote for someone older than your food? As the Things Younger Than McCain blog points out, Cobb salad, Spam and McDonald's were all born after the septuagenarian Republican presidential hopeful. Most baffling on the list is the chocolate-chip cookie. Seriously? Dinos didn't dunk them in milk after watching Eve eat one? When McCain was one, the Toll House Cookie recipe first appeared in Ruth Wakefield's cookbook.
Here's a few other food-related items we came up with, all younger than McCain: Cheerios, M&Ms, Ranch dressing, Denny's, In-N-Out Burger and the frappuccino.

i don't care how hold he is; I'm voting for him. He's one smart cookie.

No thanks ... he's too much a crumby chip off the old bush.

The frappuccino is kind of reaching isn't it? I bet most of the people on the board are older than it :)

My granddaughter said they are calling him "McThuselah" at her high school.
That made me laugh out loud.

@Brownie: That's so funny I'm telling my MoveOn.org peeps about it.
I don't really care how old a candidate is...it's the political views that do it for me.
Move On.org has a funny test about how McCain is different than Bush...hint, hint...the answers are "not much".

I would rather vote for a ham sandwich.

I certainly will NOT vote for McCain, but his age is irrelevant to me. I do not like his politics. C'mon, people. Is ageism any more acceptable than sexism or racism?

And Oblahma is younger than a hemlock cocktail, but will have the same affect on the country. Cheers and drink up (nice substitute for the usual kool-aid).

am I the only one that is bothered by the fact that the > symbol means "greater than," as in McCain is greater than a chocolate chip cookie (and mcdonalds and spam)?
cause let me tell you I'd rather have a chocolate chip cookie over McCain any day :)

Hilarious!

And being the old man that he is, he'd surely scold you for your atrocious grammar. "Here's"? Come, now.
GhaleonQ at 4:30AM on 05/14/08
I agree, anado. It should look like this:
Chocolate chip cookie > spam > [this space left intentionally blank] > McCainold's

I wouldn't vote for him, but I am disturbed that ageism remains one of the last bastions of acceptable bigotry.

Seems there is now a theme-song for this thread:

No matter which side of the election you are on, I think this will give you a chuckle!
