A Novel Coffee Carrier from Germany

This somewhat ingenious coffee carrier comes from Germany. As you can see, it helps you get a handle on two cups in a much more stable way than other carriers. Seems like a bit of a waste of paper and resources, though, when your hands would do. [via Neatorama]

But what if you needed one hand to carry a donated organ for transplant in a dying child? You know "If it saves just one child's life ...."
(Why do you think they're called "resources"?)

This looks like it uses less resources than any other disposable cup carrier I've seen. It's essentially one sheet cut in a certain way. Looks pretty secure too.

Yeah, it looks safer. Hah, and a napkin holder to boot.
I frequently get bumped on the way back to my office from the cafeteria, where Starbucks is, carrying a random coworker's coffee along with my green tea frappucino. I have dropped drinks that sit in those open carriers when people hit me on the way back to my office. What's in my other hand? Typically, my wallet and a plate of sliced fruits.
My wish each time this happens is that the person who hits me gets horribly scalded from the coffee. Never happens. All they do is say sorry and walk away. I'm always left going back and paying out of my pocket for the coffee (I don't even drink hot coffee), and hoping no one gets injured slipping on the now-slippery floor, including myself on the way back. *roll eyes*
So yeah, my vote is for this carrier. :P

Fine. You all win. Just don't come crying to me when these things litter the waters and fish are getting them caught around their little necks.

I think you could carry two of these in each hand, and then you certainly couldn't just carry them. And if it's all paper, it's recylable.

LOL Adam. If the little fishies can't get out of a waterlogged paper carrier, Darwin should have the final say, unlike humans who (unfortunately) get help. :P
Maybe people could save it for Halloween and make a mask out of it...be something original like a skeleton; although that bothersome black wedge gives it a rather ominous look...

I do have to say that it beats those crazy-ass plastic-bag carriers that McDonald's tries to give out with its drinks these days. Fools try to give me those bags when I have only one drink!

How about sturdy non-disposable material bags? You pay a little extra and keep it in your purse or briefcase or pocket, folded. There could be carriers for 1-4 cups. I'd buy them and if I paid, they wouldn't become litter. I love the simple yet practical design and think they'd be a huge hit and help.
