Lemon Souffle - a properly sugar-coated ramekin will render the exterior carmelized with a slight crunch while the interior is an etheral intensely lemony-yellow dream.

Cherry pie...fresh cherries from my Dad's tree and homemade crust

Also: today's my birthday (for real!)

Wild black raspberry tiramisu with chambord

about 30years ago i had an old very humble black man for a neighbor who worked as a cook in a big hotel in my hometown. of course he was well retired by the time i met him. early one morning as i was walking to work he was standing outside his home and he spoke as usual,"goodmornin young missy how u doing this fine mornin". never did i realize that this man would bake me the most wonderful pound cake i had ever had in my life and to this day i havent had one like it. oh, i've had very good pound cake but, i guess there was just what i think was kindness, friendship and neighborly love in his mix. not long after my good neighbor past away and his beloved wife passed 4 weeks later. whenever i taste a good pound cake i always think of him.

The most usual dessert would be ice cream. I make it all summer long. But I also looooove cheesecake, so if it's on a dessert menu, and I want dessert, that's probably what I'd choose.l

Rice pudding

Probably brownie a la mode, though for Easter I made the most delicious lemon layer cake with strawberry jam, lemon curd and lemon buttercream frosting that was divine!

floating island

carrot cake mmmmm

Tiramisu
Caramel Creme Pie

A fudgy brownie with lots of bits. Or a complicated layer cake.

I would have to say chocolate cake. Or chocolate chip cookies. Yum. But in all honesty, I love pretty much any dessert.

Florentines! yummy goodness :)

Tiramisu, and it's not even close.

creme brulee

Cerries Jubilee!

The Peanut Butter Cup sundae at Friendly's, with chocolate ice cream. I've moved away from Friendly's country, but every time I go back to the Northeast I make sure I get to Friendly's as soon as humanly possible and order up the biggest one they've got, then proceed to totally gross out the staff by snarfing up the whole thing and scraping the bottom. I can't find peanut butter sauce like that anywhere else, and it's been one of the great sadnesses of my life ;-).

Oh, and the hemp brownies from French Meadow here in Minneapolis (the only other place to get them, oddly and randomly enough, is at JFK airport in New York) are gorgeously, ridiculously, deliriously good.

Oh gosh I have SO MANY favorites! Guess I would have to pick chocolate cake with raspberry icing, and a good cup of coffee.

warm chocolate cake.

A hot fudge sundae

Lemon meringue pie is delectable and lovely.

So hard to choose, but today I will say a hot fudge sundae with peanut butter and whipped cream.

Chocolate chip cookies, still warm, soft and gooey just out of the oven.

Sweet Melissa in Brooklyn makes these AMAZING pumpkin spice sandwich cookies with a cream cheese filling, like super-rich, soft pumpkin oreos. Completely addictive! I would love to learn how to make these!

The best thing ever...my mama's apricot nectar cake. To pick one only - harsh. But if I could have anything then it would have to be a dessert from a restaurant that is sadly no longer in existence. It was a Chocolate Bread Pudding studded with Brandy soaked dried peaches served with a Jack Daniels Creme Anglaise.

It wasn't a Bread Pudding with chocolate added, but a Bread Pudding made out of Chocolate Bread. There was chocolate added too.

Homemade apple crisp with NO OATS (trust me the crunchy brown sugar against the tart granny smith apples is to die for) piping hot, as is, no ice cream.

Black forest cake - prepared by others (my husband won't eat it) or mother's lemon pie. It's a very old recipe made with orange flavoring as well as lemon and is a bit creamy - divine. Can't choose a favorite, but for the sake of this post I will say cheesecake.

Coconut cupcakes or chocolate mousse. Unless it's coffee ice cream. Oh, but then there are brownies

That's a really unfair question because who can pick just one? If I could only have one favorite, it would have to be . . . hmmm . . . . chocolate cream pie.

Great - why don't you just ask me which is my favorite child?!! That would be just as impossible to answer. OK, but you don't really know me, so you won't know if I tell the truth or not...... hmmm - so then why can't I just type SOMETHING? Why am I still sitting here thinking? OK - my favorite dessert is Banquet banana cream pie - not necessarily unfrozen.

I can't decide between flourless chocolate cake and key lime pie.

Something creamy like creme brulee or flan.
