Backyard Orchards Are Busting Out All Over
According to the New York Times, backyard orchards are replacing patios even in the tightest urban spaces. My favorite anecdote in the piece: A Williamsburg, Brooklyn, resident planted a banana tree in his tiny back yard. Alas, the cold northeastern winter killed it. Here's my question: Is there such a thing as a miniature peach tree? Will it grow on my windowsill? That's all this aspiring urban orchardist has to work with.
