Marco Pierre White to Host New NBC Restaureality Show
The famed British chef is the big name attached to The Chopping Block, a show scheduled for 2009 in which "eight American couples running two neighboring restaurants in Manhattan, with one couple being eliminated per week." Sounds like The Restaurant meets Top Chef meets Hell's Kitchen (which White hosts in the U.K.).

It doesn't sound like those shows. It sounds EXACTLY like Last Restaurant Standing.

I'll be watching! Marco is a genius! I wish that I could also see his UK Hell's Kitchen episodes on US TV.

UK Hell's Kitchen is rough - the season I watched was sort of a Celebrity Apprentice meets Hell's Kitchen: B- and C- list British celebs who had no idea how to cook.

arbeck is spot on. It's totally Last Restaurant Standing (which is actually a really good show since the annoying American got voted off).

I can not begin to tell you how much THAT couple irritated me on LRS. I wanted to reach trough the screen and throttle the little Florida girl. When the US is represented as such, one can understand why folks in other countries have an unkind opinion.
More to point on "The Chopping Block", it id definitely Last Restaurant Standing, though it sounds a tad different if there are only two restaurants and not eight. I am sure I will watch.

I love LRS on BBCA. Their verson of Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares is also a thousand times better than the US version. It is much more like a documentary, whereas the US version delivers a lot of totally faked drama.

Original BBC programming is pretty much always better than their American counterparts, from Kitchen Nightmares all the way to Couples.
But on to Marco Pierre White - you know what I want more than anything? For Mario Batali to be a guest on one of the episodes. That would be the sweetest thing ever.
Batali still hates White's guts, right?
