Robert Irvine Fired from the Food Network

The Food Network has released a statement saying it has "not renewed Robert's contract for future seasons" and "will be looking for a replacement host."

Robert Irvine, in his first appearance since the scandal erupted, apologized, saying, "I was wrong to exaggerate in statements related to my experiences regarding the Royal Family."

Too bad...I actually enjoyed his show...couldn't they just label it a "docudrama"? :)

Time to get excited for Robert Irvine: the E True Hollywood Story.

It's pretty terrible that he lied about that stuff but I really liked him on Dinner Impossible...does "looking for a replacement host" mean that they're keeping the show though?

^ I guess they are. With whom I can't imagine, but as long as it's not Rachael Ray, I'm happy.

I'll tell you who I think should replace him -- Michael Lomonaco. Nobody is more personable and "real" than Michael.

Heck, I only looked at his biceps anyway!!

Too bad, though not terribly surprising. When I noticed they'd altered the opening of his show (even the repeats from before the story broke), I figured they probably wouldn't be renewing him. I can't imagine the show would do too well without him though since it was designed around him. Guess we'll see what they do. It was an interesting concept.

what did he do? i didn't mind watching his shows once in a while.

WOW. I really hope that this doesn't TOTALLY ruin his career. I think he does have some talent...

I found his show painful to watch. I don't mind drama - but pumped up drama that is too obviously created on purpose is something I do mind.

I think this is pretty stupid. At least he knows how to cook and can run a kitchen. Yet Sandra Lee has a show which basicvally just shows you how to warm up processed food and get hammered in your million dollar kitchen while your hubby is at work. Ridiculous.

I agree with Seyo she exaggerated a lot. Like that speech at the beginning of her show where she says she makes things homemade.
Robert was not a bad chef. He just is bad about his resume. At least he HAD one.
I always knew this too. When he did episodes in which he had to bake cakes he always cringed and kept saying he was not a baker YET claimed he had baked Di and Charles' wedding cake. Now I kept repeating over and over how could you bake a monstrosity of that proportion and not know how to bake a cake. Well I got my answer. He didn't.
Cake sleuthing aside. I really thought he looked hot in those tight tshirts sweating over practically everything he ever cooked. Shame really he was eye candy.

There is supposed to be a Dinner Impossible marathon on FoodTV tonight. I wonder if they will change the programming????

Too bad he made up the resume but I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Give me a break...the guy's highly entertaining. Maybe congress should start another investigation. Lots of great chefs studied at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America), but I'll bet he went to the PIA. Where do you think he got those guns and learned the skills required to do Dinner Impossible?

I really really love Robert. Come on now why would they throw away such a great and funny talent. I understand he may not have told the complete truth, but Has he not proven himself???????? This is very very upsetting i am now currently on hold at the following number 865-560-3663, this is where if you are a fan of Robert's you can express your feelings.

I'm affraid, But maybe now my wife will look at me instead of him.lol

I don't really care for him and I thought his show was ok, but I feel sorry for the guy. It's gotta hurt when your show gets canned, but sandra lee gets to keep hers.

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT ROBERT DID A FINE JOB..LIKE WE ALL HAVE NEVER STRETCHED THE TRUTH, THE SHOW WILL PROALLY CRASH SINCE HE MADE IT WHAT IT WAS!!! TAKE HEART TO OTHERS..HE'S PROBALLY DOING FINE WITH OUT THE SHOW. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ROBERT!!!

i wish they would release a statement saying,"he misled us, it's not ok, but we forgive him and will keep his show"....that would be perfect.
because honestly, no one is perfect and i think his show was great.

I don't often take pleasure in anyones misfortune...
Unless they did it to themsleves...
I never liked this guy.. way too cockey...
The show stinks and apparently he does too...
Now on to Rachael Ray..... the most annoying person on TV...
OMG....EVOO!!!! everyone!

After reading again many of your comments... and I don't want to be the bad guy here...
He LIED about his experience.. if I applied for an 8.00 dollar an hour job I would be fired for the same thing...
NO, I've never cared for him,, YES I feel vindicated in my feelings..
However,, he's a liar.. plain and simple. would you want that person working for you???
He's dishonest and a fraud..
Don't pity the fool!

LIARS MUST BE STOPPED!
This guy figured, like all liars, that they are far more clever than anyone else and therefore could just slide his crap by unnoticed. HA! Hurray for those who blew the whistle on this fraud.
Now as for him and his little show, I thought it should have been called Dinner Impossible to Watch. Hmmm much like a lot of FoodNetwork drivel. I just can't bring myself to watch that poor dumb ass Paula Deen (but I was horrified when dreaded Bobby Flay doused her with corn starch on his little Throw Up show).
On the other hand, someone's comment about Sandra Lee's "getting hammered in her million dollar kitchen while hubby's at work" sounds very intriguing!

Just saw a commercial for a new episode.. Guess they took him back?
