Most Serious Eater Awards: The No-Tears Election
The voting is over. The results are in for the 2007 Most Serious Eater Awards, with nary a shed tear or hanging chad in sight. The Serious Eaters have spoken. And the winners are:
2007 Most Serious Eater, Community Member: JEP edged out fellow Serious Eaters JerzeeTomato and Karen Resta. As far as we're concerned here at Serious Eats HQ, every member of our community is a winner.
2007 Most Serious Eater, Contributor: Our legendary baking blogger Dorie Greenspan nipped Ree, the Pioneer Woman and the Amateur Gourmet.
2007 Most Serious Eater—Chef, Author, Media Personality: In the closest race of the three, Michael Ruhlman beat out our bureau chief of all things Italian, Mario Batali, and the always provocative Michael Pollan.

So, as I was wondering when this started ... what is their prize? Oh I know, a free year's subscription to Serious Eats! Wai ... What?? It's free??? I guess I'd better find out why that Kuban character's been sending me a monthly bill ...

If a cake is the prize I hope to get a big flower made out of frosting from one side, please.
I was shocked to even be nominated but very pleased to be called provoking. Which I immediately transposed in my mind to "provocative".
It is true though that this site is completely collaborative, and every person who posts is as important as any other one.
