Alton Brown Extends Contract with Food Network

Alton Brown has signed a new contract that will keep him on the airwaves of Food Network for the next three years. In addition to hosting Iron Chef America and pumping out Good Eats, he'll eat his way around the world's waterways on his new show, Feasting on Waves.

I like Alton, but The Food Network has really gone downhill the past couple of years. I don't watch it nearly as much as I used to.

I'm actually glad to hear they're keeping him on for three more years. As much as I enjoy ICA, he adds so much to it with his commentary.

I don't like him at all. He's not attractive enough for television.

Hooray! He's gotta be the best thing FN's got going for them right now, and I think I just might cry if he ever left. Feating on Waves sounds like it'll be fun as hell, too (I LOVED Feasting on Asphalt).

As geeky as he is, I love his scientific, basics approach to cooking. He breaks everything down to the base of a recipe & builds from there. Even my bf has started getting into the Food Network b/c of Alton Brown!

HOORAY! I am a complete Alton Fangirl, I admit it. He's the perfect combination of technique, science and passion, plus, he's adorable. he looks like real people, doing interesting things with wonderful cooking. I've learned a lot from him, and my son loves him, too.

Yeah! I'm a huge AB fan. Geeks are hot, plain and simple.

I have had the hottest dreams about him, don't ask why just have.

This is fantastic news.

So long as he doesn't do another two-part show on water...

Paris22, who says you got to be beautiful or even good looking to be on TV? Alton does what he does best, he entertains you with his antics, and his cooking. It's those TV news nerds that have to be goodlooking to get you to tune into their broadcasts :)

First of all, I happen to think he's almost as handsome as my husband, who incidentally, is Prince Charming reincarnated. I met Alton in Cincinnati, he's even more charming, sincere, and witty than he is on TV. He meets you with a genuine smile, and makes you feel like you are the only person in the room. I only watch FN for his shows, because every other piece of crap on that channel has women showing their breasts, food that looks like slop, or men with no character using ingredients I'd never use. If they ever drop Alton, the channel will lose many viewers. Kids watch his show, so I"m glad he doesn't feel the need to use sexual overtones, flash any type of cleavage, or act like some oversexed grandmother. Alton is FN's saving grace.
