I think I said Dim Sum in Flushing before. This time, I'll say that my other favorite is an everything bagel with lox.

I have not had the pleasure of ever going to New York, but my favorite brunch in general is home fries with a fried egg on top. Maybe this exists in New York?

Sesame bagel, lightly toasted, lots of real cream cheese (none of that commie light crap for me), lots of lox, some shaved red onion and capers. Oh. And please put the onions and capers UNDER the lox so it doesn't all slide off. And a big bloody mary with a juicy lime, extra spicy, no salt.

i've only been to new york once in the past 20 years, and i celebrated that by nursing a hangover with margaritas from 7A.

i'm a sucker for tom's harvest pancakes (corn and cranberries).

but i also really like an H&H bagel with smoked salmon, russ & daughters' horseradish cream cheese, red onion, tomatoes, fresh ground black pepper, and capers. and maybe more horseradish.

favorite brunch beverages are a bloody mary with extra hot sauce, horseradish (yes, virginia, there's a theme), and pepper, a chocolate egg cream, or, traditionally, a bottomless mug of good coffee.

Still Zabar's smoked whitefish salad on an H & H bagel.

Anything from Sarabeths Kitchens, or....lox from Zabars on a bagel from H & H with a schmear and the fixin's..

well, everyone else has said a bagel with lox (my 2nd choice), or a bagel with whitefish (my 1st choice), or dim sum in Flushing (always good). Given that these are already taken, I'd have to say the popovers with strawberry butter at Popover Cafe.

I've only been to NYC once, back in the mid 70's, and it was too late for brunch. In fact, since the cheapest item on the Hilton's room service menu was Beans & Franks for $9, I didn't eat at all!

A prune danish from Moishe's Bakery on Second Avenue and a cup of French Costa Rican coffee from the Porto Rico Importing Co., sitting in Tompkins Square Park in the big circle in the middle of the park on a beautiful day.

Or, an order of Matzoh Brie at B&H Dairy during a snow storm in the middle of winter.
