The Trail to the Chocolate Show

This is a slow week for chocolate news. Most American chocolatiers and chocolate-makers are busy hitching their horses to their wagons for the harrowing journey (either across the country or across town) to the tenth annual Chocolate Show in New York City.

Here who's expected to ride into camp by Friday:

And, of course, other earnest chocolate pioneers, from far and wide

The Chocolate Show takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 West 18th Street and runs from 11 a.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday.

About the author: Emily Stone, a food writer and proprietor of Chocolate in Context, is a chocolate enthusiast, itinerant traveler, and a lover of literature who lives in Pittsburgh.

Chris Norman is just amazing flavors. John and Kira a local fav here have fresh organic and clean flavors, they use local ingredients. Another fav of mine is not on the list Mr MOF Jacques Torres (NYC)

Sweet jesus, I love John & Kira's mint chocolates.

I'm going on Saturday! Gonna get so fat. And poor.

I went to the Chocolate Show two years ago. It was a lot of fun, the food was very tasty and surprising, there was high quality booze flowing, the fashion show was hilarious, and to top it all off, since it is an AIDS benefit, you can deduct a big chunk of it from your taxes. It's win win win, I recommend it.

My money's on Christopher Elbow, if he's going.

I have ambivalent feellings of not going to the Chocolate Show this year. It was fun last year when I ate all the chocolates 'til my gut screams "Uncle!" and made a dent in my wallet...but I'm interested in trying Amano's chocolate since I heard a lot about them. Ugh.

Anyways, I really love Mary's chocolate (from Japan). The pretty chocolates. So pretty.
