Stir-fried Wikipedia

What happens when you translate your menu with a little online assistance? You end up with dishes like "Stir-fried wikipedia" and "Steamed Eggs with wikipedia".

That food is well-seasoned with knowledge.

Wow. My mind is blown. I took the exact same picture last month. Small world. Does anyone know exactly what the chinese says though?

yumsugar: Did you post the photo anywhere? On Yumsugar.com or on Flickr? I wonder if there are LOTS of misprinted Wikipedia menus.

I just asked my mom to translate: she said 303 is stir-fried chicken from a specific province (and then a spicy version of the dish) and 304 is something like fragrant oil steamed egg with chicken. Or something. She couldn't recognize one of the characters.

ak - i'm still sorting through all of my photos (i just got back from china) it is the EXACT same restaurant!! small world!

i asked my mom to translate and she said something along the lines of stir fried factory raised chicken, but she wasn't 100% sure, she thought it was a bit weird, she also didn't recognize it.

I wonder if the character that is not recognizable to Robyn's and yumsugar's Moms could be something along the lines of a "trademark" character recently developed for a certain brand of chicken that is entering the marketplace as a nationally-marketed brand. Could that be so?

If that were a possible scenario it would be very interesting. A language affected by a food created by the industrial process. Of course we have that in English but I wonder if it happens in Chinese.
