Fake Gordon Ramsay Now Blogging

20071127fakegordonramsay.jpgWhen I got in this morning, Raphael, our web developer here at Serious Eats, pinged me with the link for what's essentially a "Fake Gordon Ramsay" blog. (You've heard of Fake Steve Jobs, right? 'Cause that's what they're shooting for here.)

I didn't jump on blogging this right away because I was a little underwhelmed. Maybe I'm just used to the keenly insightful and wickedly hilarious FSJ posts, but FGR seems to miss the mark by a little bit. Maybe I expected more F-bombs (there are only six in a total of 16 Fake Gordon posts so far). I don't know. But, it looks like FGR has only been blogging since late October, so I'm sure hoping he'll hit his f&*%ing stride soon enough.

I think this is pretty funny and a great idea. This line had me laughing out loud:

"Hey Food Network, maybe “Ramsay Live” is next in the TV lineup? Or “Gordon Live.” Or “Gordon Ramsay Live in Your Fucking Faces, Bitches.”

Whenever I check out FSJ, I always find it boring. Maybe it's because I'm not a techie. To each his own I guess.

It's true, Molly. Diff'rent strokes. ;)

i love the real gordo. i think he gets a bad rap.

I think FSJ is entertaing because it has the proper tone of Steve Jobs turned up to 11. Going through the FGR posts, it didn't have Ramsays's voice at all. Frankly, I think it's a significant problem when the original is funnier than the comedic take as it is in the case of FGR.

A fake Gordon Ramsey? You mean to tell me that that the guy on Hell's Kitchen was REAL? Oh, please! So everyone else was an actor, and HE was real? And he thinks that people will still actually take him seriously?
