Film to Watch: King Corn
"King Corn is a feature documentary about two friends, one acre of corn, and the subsidized crop
that drives our fast-food nation."
King Corn may not be the stuff of summer blockbusters, but it is a documentary that deals with something all Americans should be concerned about: corn. Yes, those little subsidized yellow kernels that pop up in our food supply in the form of high fructose corn syrup, grain-fed beef, and so much more (too much more being the problem). Follow filmmakers Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis as they grow their own acre of corn in Iowa and follow the corn's path through the food system.
The film opens today in New York City at Cinema Village. Check out all the future opening dates at kingcorn.net and watch the trailer below.
