Photo of the Day: Tornado Potato
Photograph from Superlocal on Flickr
This fine specimen of street food, the "tornado potato" or, if you prefer, the "tortato," was spotted on the streets of Seoul, South Korea. They can also be found in Japan.

Any idea on how to make one at home?

That looks JUST like the butterfly potatoes that we have on campus every year for spring fair, except ours are thinner and piled on a plate. Melt some cheese on that baby and send it my way! =)

I'm retired living in Mexico, you can find these at the tianguis (market places were food and everything else is sold) though out the country for about $1.00 US.

I've also found these years ago in South Africa, at a schwarma place. And since then at a schwarma place elsewhere. They had all kinds of seasonings to dust it with... including sour cream & onion like dry seasoning.
