Anthony Bourdain and QOTSA's Rockin' Holiday

bourdainholiday.jpgWord is that Anthony Bourdain filmed an upcoming No Reservations holiday-themed episode with rock band Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA). While Bourdain prepares a traditional holiday feast at his Connecticut home, QOTSA are rocking out in the basement rec room. Bourdain describes the episode:

It’s a traditional Thanksgiving/Christmas meal with turkey, all the trimmings, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie … some Christmas carols … and a vicious brother-on-brother knife fight. We spent a fair amount of time spraying stage blood onto my niece and nephew’s face. What’s a holiday special without violent mayhem? I think it’s an honest reflection of the holiday season.

Happy holidays, indeed.

"What’s a holiday special without violent mayhem? I think it’s an honest reflection of the holiday season." Wow, that's rather insightful ... and no, I don't recall Bourdain ever visiting my family at the holiday. Downright freaky how he got that right ...

Is he wearing a tie? Good God.

Is that Ken Jennings in the picture?

logicalmind: I thought the same thing.

Curious, where in Connecticut? I don't want to stalk him, it's just that I thought he lived in New York City.

Ugh... Christmas with Bourdain is worse than Christmas with your crazy old aunt who smells really bad.

They should totally sell tickets to things like this.

There are people in my family that are worse than Bourdain at least with him around you get good stuff to eat.

I'm pretty sure that this will be the most brilliant episode ever. I'd much rather spend the holidays drinking with Anthony Bourdain, than drinking myself stupid so I can cope with my actual family.

Wait... have I been missing something here - isn't it just the beginning of September? Why are we talking about holiday episodes now? Seems a tad premature. At least wait until the Halloween costumes are safely stowed away.
