Wanted: Volunteers for A Group Candy Swoon

20070802creamnutbox.jpg

I'm a sucker for chocolate peanut candies in just about any form. I have a keen appreciation for Goobers, for example. Some people may find them boring, pedestrian even. I find them to be a crunchy, chocolaty pleasure, perfect for movie munching.

Ever since I discovered Newman's Own Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, I have become an even stauncher advocate for the organics movement. Now I have a new chocolate peanut candy to love. An impossibly delicious and satisfying combination of creamy peanut butter blended with white chocolate set on a bed of fresh pecans and enrobed in dark (or milk) chocolate, Cream-Nut Peanut Butter Clusters achieve a perfect balance of creaminess, saltiness, sweetness, and crunch, with the dark chocolate supplying the coup de grĂ¢ce in every bite.

These paradigmatic candies are made by Koeze, a small, independent peanut butter and candy company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. To my knowledge, you will not find them in any store right now. You can order them online or by phone (800-555-3909) starting September 1.

I'm thinking of organizing a collective Cream-Nut Chocolate Peanut Butter Cluster bite at the end of September. Anyone who wants to participate will order a box of these beauties. We will then set up a prearranged time for all of us to take a bite together. The sound of all of us moaning with pleasure will be the swoon heard around the world.

You would probably love Malley's Chocolates from Cleveland, OH too.

They have all kinds of clusters with different nuts and chocolates, peanut butter too! Currently my favorites are Pecan Billy Bobs--Crunchy pecans drenched in caramel, covered in milk chocolate. Best chocolate I've ever had! http://www.malleys.com/

Anyone in the DC-area want to bite in unison?? I'm there.

Ah, Koeze! I tried their PB at the Fancy Food Show. If you're really serious, I'll join.
