I've Seen the Future, and It Tastes Like Bacon

baconsalt.jpg

It was only a matter of time before someone invented Bacon Salt. You can put it on everything—sandwiches, eggs, salads, popcorn, vegetables, fish, fries and steak can all benefit from an extra dose of bacon flavor. You can even baconize your bacon. Whoa. And as this seasoning is kosher, vegetarian, and contains no calories, there's no reason why everyone can't shared in the salty, bacony joy.

Stretch the limits of your bacon love (or live out your bacon fantasies) by making everything taste like bacon. [via MetaFilter]

That is terrifying, but oddly intriguing. Wouldn't it just be a smoky-flavored salt?

Clearly, there is a God. And He has answered my prayers; my subconscious, silent prayers for a condiment that I knew I desperately needed yet could not name.

Thank you, Dear God.

Thank You.

Fortunately for my taste buds I have chronically low blood pressure and am on a high salt/high protein diet. I ordered 2 bottles of this last night! Can't wait to try all it's deliciousness! (But sad I have to wait 1-3 weeks for delivery!) Thanks Serious Eats! Everything IS better with bacon!

Yes, but where does the bacon flavor come from? This stuff does not contain meat, and is in fact Kosher certified.

If I want bacon, I'll eat bacon.

This salt should be great on bacon.

@ Bobcatsteph - Was your wait for delivery due to being outside USA? If you're in Europe, check out Crazy4Flavour in UK. UK deliveries "next day" if you opt for first class post, and other EU countries around 3 days wait.

Their prices are around the same as in USA, but you save a bomb on postage.
