'Veronica Mars' Bars

20070611vmars.jpgMore TV-related food news for you: Fans of the CW network show Veronica Mars have been sending Mars candy bars to Dawn Ostroff, CW's president of entertainment, as a form of protest that the show has been canceled.

It's similar to the Nuts for Jericho fan campaign that had devotees of that show sending massive amounts of nuts to CBS.

Makes me wonder what fans would send to the networks if the following shows were ever threatened:

  • The Office: Herr's potato chips
  • Ugly Betty: Bagels
  • Lost: Dharma fish biscuits
  • Battlestar Galactica: That fungus they had to mine on that one planet for the food-manufacturing machine
  • Simpsons: Doughnuts

Or these already departed classics:

  • Seinfeld: Cereal. Or marble rye. Or Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken. Or ...
  • I Love Lucy: Chocolates
  • The Cosby Show: Jell-O
  • The Brady Bunch: Pork chops and apple sauce

Fans of Fiona Apple protested the delayed release of her album by sending thousands of foam apples to Sony. If only they had sent real ones to rot in transit...

Where can I send my Mars bars? I love that show more than anything on the Food Network!

So what food can we send to get Studio 60 back on the air? The only thing that comes to mind is Oxycontin, which isn't quite a food. Darn.

LizNYC: Fallen soufflés? Heh. I kid. I actually like Studio 60. Speaking of, what's up with that show? I was surprised to accidentally catch a new episode last Thursday. Are they just going to run out the episodes already in the can?

Adam- That seems to be the plan with Studio 60. They've run 2 or 3 new episodes already since the season finales of other shows ended. You can catch up by watching them online at nbc.com
