Roasters Do More Than Just Roast
Chris of Apartment Therapy: The Kitchen declares it's time to find new uses for roasters: "No matter how sexy-shiny our All-Clad roaster is, in order to justify the purchase, we need to cook with this $159.99 pan more than once a month. Down with expensive, single use kitchen tools!"
One of their commenters says her mother uses her roaster to cook mussels for a group, because it's the perfect size and height and you can serve them in it; another makes caramel corn in it during the holidays. What do you do with your roaster?

I use mine all the time! It's been employed for slow-roasting 3-4 racks of babybacks for hours on end; homemade roasted pasta sauce (throw all ingredients in and let it go); massive lasagna (love the handles for serving); stuffed peppers or squash.... For feeding a crowd, it is extremely versatile. I think I've only roasted poultry in it once!

I've used mine (which has a lid) to steam lobsters. Just throw it on two burners with boiling water in the bottom of the roasting pan, toss the bugs on the rack, lid it, and oh, yeah, put a brick on top and cover your ears. :o)

I use mine for roasted potatoes for the five of us in my family. Or any large batch of roasted vegetables. I cook big batches of New Orleans style barbecue shrimp in it.
